A Day Out With Paperwise

Join us for a day out on the road!
File Picking and Planning the Day
The day begins by checking emails and selecting the files needed for the scheduled jobs. Once everything is organised, we map out the day’s route.
We follow a month-by-month schedule of confidential waste collections, making sure each stop is included in the plan. From time to time, we also receive urgent file requests, which means adjusting the route to fit in an additional stop. Careful planning at the start of the day helps everything run smoothly and keeps collections secure and on schedule.
Stop Number 1: York City Centre
Our first stop of the day is York city centre, where a solicitor has requested a file from storage earlier that morning. Their client is due to arrive at 11am, so we make sure to prioritise the delivery and allow plenty of time. From receiving the request to delivering the file, the turnaround is just two hours — not bad at all, if we do say so ourselves.
Stop Number 2: Weekly Visit to a leading Solicitor
Our next stop is a visit to a leading solicitor in York for their weekly delivery. Throughout the week, we typically receive around 30–40 requests for wills and deeds, all of which are picked from our secure document storage facility.
During the visit, we also collect any new files that need to be placed into storage, and swap over their confidential waste and cardboard bins, keeping everything organised, secure, and running smoothly.
Stop Number 3: Coffee - Does this count?
Of course, no busy morning is complete without a quick coffee stop — purely for operational efficiency!
Stop Number 4: Residential collection in Malton
Next, we head to a residential address in Malton, where we collect three boxes of confidential waste. These include old account details, bank statements, bills, medical documents, and other sensitive home paperwork that needs secure disposal. Securely disposing of confidential data is a key step in preventing identity theft.
Stop Number 5: Engineering company in Whitby
It's now out to Whitby to collect four boxes from a local engineering company for scanning. As part of our monthly collection, we pick up boxes of job sheets and securely scan them to the cloud, giving the company easy access to their records while keeping the originals safely stored. While we’re there, we also collect a box of used toners for recycling, ensuring they’re disposed of safely and responsibly.
Stop Number 6:
The day’s final stop is at Scarborough Castle. Their office and ticket desk are upgrading to a new computer system, and they’re ensuring that the old hard drives, containing sensitive customer information, are securely disposed of. Once the destruction is complete, we provide a certificate of destruction that includes the hard drive serial numbers for full peace of mind.
